Our Wanderdog guest Sisi is an extraordinarily sweet two-year-old Cockapoo who recently made the big move from the Rockies in Canada! We had the absolute pleasure of caring for her over the Easter bank holiday weekend—and what an adventure it turned out to be.

At Wanderdog, we pride ourselves on offering more than just dog boarding. We provide enriching, active, and loving experiences for every dog in our care—and Sisi’s stay was the perfect example.

A Surrey Hills Adventure

On Sisi’s first day, we set off on a road trip to the stunning Surrey Hills, officially recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—and it certainly lived up to its name.

We kicked things off with a relaxed lunch at a dog-friendly pub, The Penny Black, before beginning our walk along the beautiful Mole Gap Trail. Starting in Leatherhead, we followed winding countryside paths through open fields, shaded woodland, and alongside a gently flowing stream, eventually reaching Dorking.

Along the way, Sisi enjoyed meeting fellow dogs and exploring new scents and surroundings. After completing the route, we hopped on a train back to Leatherhead—by which point we had two very happy (and very tired!) dogs.

Exploring the White Cliffs of Dover

Day two called for another adventure—this time to the iconic White Cliffs of Dover.

After lunch at The White Horse, a charming pub known as the “Channel Swimmers Pub,” we made our way up the steep climb to the cliffs. The effort was more than worth it—the views were absolutely breathtaking.

With clear skies, sunshine, and no wind, conditions were perfect for a long, peaceful walk along the coastline. We met plenty of other dogs along the way (including some particularly elegant Corgis!), and Sisi took everything in her stride.

We paused near the lighthouse for water, treats, and plenty of cuddles, soaking in the views—and even noticed our phones connecting to a French network, which felt fitting as Sisi’s owners were enjoying a weekend in Paris!

After a full day of exploring, we headed home with another pair of content and sleepy pups.

Local Fun

On Sisi’s third day, we opted for something a little closer to home. We took the underground train ready for a fun-filled day of play.

Armed with a selection of bright toys, we discovered Sisi’s impressive love of play —she had endless energy and enthusiasm!

From there, we continued on to Battersea, stopping at The Victoria for a delicious dog-friendly lunch. Refuelled and refreshed, we wandered through Battersea Park, enjoying more games, scenic paths, and even a splash near the fountains.

Home Dog Boarding - a Weekend to Remember

Sisi’s Easter home boarding experience was filled with adventure, enrichment, and plenty of love—exactly what we aim to provide with every dog boarding experience at Wanderdog.

Whether it’s countryside hikes, coastal walks, or local playtime, we tailor every stay to suit each dog’s personality, energy levels, and needs.

We can’t wait to welcome Sisi back for her next adventure!
